Excursions We will travel to nearby historical sites in the Lazio region: Rome:  Museo Nazional Romano, Palazzo Massimo, Galleria Borghese, National Musuem of Villa Giulia, Musei Vaticani, Galleria Doria Pamphili, Museo Capitolini, San Pietro in Vincoli, San Pietro-Dom, San Clemente, Galleria Nazionale dell'Arte Antica, Cerasi Chapel, Santa Maria del Popolo. Tuscania:  St. Peter's Church, St. Mary Major's Church. Tarquinia:  Magnificent Etruscan burial ground and museum of Etruscan art Sutri: Etruscan amphitheatre and necropolis. Caprarola: Palazzo Farnese. Lago di Vico:  Painting site in a nature preserve. Civita di Bagnoregio:  A medieval hilltop town founded by the Etruscans over 2,500 years ago and built on volcanic tufa.  The town split in two during a major earthquake in the 17th century, and the remains have been eroding ever since.
